Singer Kanye West, clearly, wasn't in the mood to see country-pop artist Taylor Swift take home her inaugural MTV Video Music Award on Sunday, Sept. 13, if it meant his favorite video by a female wasn't the winner. And he made sure everyone knew it.

Nonetheless, country songstress Swift, thanks to strong fan support at the online MTV polls for her her “You Belong with Me” music video, was declared the Best Female Video winner during the live-awards broadcast, beating out over music clips by the category's top contenders; namely, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Beyonce, Kate Perry and Lady Gaga, respectively.

After a somewhat shocked but ever-gracious Swift, 19, made her way to the stage to accept the Moonman trophy, the 32-year-old West interrupted her acceptance speech, took the microphone from her and told all that he thought Beyonce was deserving of the prize.

To view the always-fashionable Swift's acceptance speech, albeit rudely interrupted, as well as see a clip of her live performance of "You Belong with Me" during the show from the subways of New York, please access Moonman mission complete: Taylor Swift scores her first MTV Music Video Award.

Country's Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards
In spite of being the under dog, country-pop artist Taylor Swift emerged victorious in the Best Female Video category of the 2009 MTV contest--never mind that Kanye West made it clear he disagreed with the decision.
